Shirk Trucking

When Shirk Trucking reached out near the end of 2024, they were ready to stake their claim online with their first-ever website, despite operating since 1935. They also needed a refreshed logo and updated photography that captured the heart of their family-owned operation. Our goal was to help them tell their story in a way that felt honest and true to their heritage.

Web Design

For the website, we built a single-page experience that walks visitors through who Shirk Trucking is and what they do best. The page covers their capabilities, equipment, and long company history, supported by a visual timeline and clear calls to action for customers and job seekers. Everything was built in WordPress for long-term scalability, fully responsive, and structured around simple, honest storytelling. We met the team on-site to learn their process, gather details, and make sure the design matched the pride they put into their work.

Logo Design

Shirk Trucking wanted a refreshed identity that honored their long history, so we approached the project with evolution in mind rather than reinvention. We kept their signature red, black, and white palette and explored designs inspired by classic trucking badges and vintage lettering. Several concepts incorporated elements from their original logo, including pinstriping and old-school typography, to maintain that familiar heritage feel. In the end, the client chose to keep the original logo font and merge it with one of the new concepts you’ll see on the website, creating a mark that bridges their past and present.

Highlights

  • Logo concepts inspired by heritage trucking design
  • Original red, black, and white palette maintained
  • Exploration of badge, emblem, and vintage lettering styles
  • Elements borrowed from previous branding for continuity
  • Multiple rounds of revisions with final selected concept
  • Final logo files delivered in .AI, .SVG, and .PNG

Photography

For the photography, we arrived on-site at sunrise for a four-hour shoot, capturing new imagery that felt true to the company’s day-to-day. With over 14 trucks in the fleet, coordinating the lineup took some planning, but the early light paid off. We photographed trucks, equipment, loads, and the family members who keep the place running.

Before the shoot, we built a shot list to keep the session moving and make sure we captured everything needed for the website and their future marketing. The final collection included more than 100 edited images that showcase the scale, craft, and history of their work.

Highlights

  • Sunrise on-site photography session
  • Full fleet coverage across 14+ trucks
  • Portraits of family and leadership
  • Strategic shot list planned ahead of time
  • Truck positioning and staging coordinated on-site
  • 100+ edited images delivered for web and marketing use
